(Dragomir N. NENCHEV)
Dragomir N. Nenchev received the BEng degree in Computer Science, and MEng
and Ph.D. in Robotics from the Higher Institute of Electrical and
Mechanical Engineering (now Technical University) of Sofia, Bulgaria in 1979,
1981 and 1985, respectively. He was a founding faculty member of
the Robotics Department at the same institution (from 1986 till 1994).
From 1994 till 1997 he was an Associate Professor at the Department
of Aeronautics and Space Engineering of Tohoku University, Japan. He was
appointed full Professor at the Department of Mechanical and Production
Engineering of Niigata University, from 1997 till 1999. He was also Professor
and founding member of the Department of Intelligent Machines and System
Engineering, Hirosaki University, from 1999 till 2003.
He is now full Professor at the Department of Mechanical Systems Engineering,
Musashi Institute of Technology (now Tokyo City University),
Tokyo, Japan. He was also a Visiting
Researcher at the Department of Mechanical Engineering Science,
Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan in 1988/89, at the Department
of Mechanics, Milan Polytechnic, Italy in 1992/93 and at the Harbor Center,
Coeur D'Alene campus, University of Idaho, in 2015.
His research interests include kinematics, dynamics and
motion control of underactuated, parallel and redundant robot systems.
D. N. Nenchev is senior member of IEEE,
member of the Robotics Society of Japan, the Japanese Society of
Mechanical Engineers and the Society of Instrumentation and Control Engineers.
